Great food. I had the tinga tacos dorados and they were great! My husband orders a chorizo torta and birria tacos. He really enjoyed the food. The service was good. I didn't give it 5 stars because the aguas frescas were not good, especially the horchata. But overall good experience.

My kind of place--no frills, just good food! We came here for a Sunday lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. With plenty of locals dining here, you know it's got to be good. I had the veggie tostada, and my husband went for the chicken burrito. Both were delicious, and the sauces on the table were a fantastic addition--super flavorful! The place is small, so be patient and plan for a bit of a wait to get seated. Definitely coming back to try more dishes!

If you're looking for great Mexican food near Journal Square, Mi Mariachi is as good as it gets. This restaurant is a family owned business. Just a few blocks away from the Journal Square Path train. Inside, they have seating and you can usually see a Mexicana abuela in the kitchen on the grill, so you know it's authentic. They typically have waitress service for dine-in. Everyone is generally very nice. Ive only had a few dishes here, but everyone single one tasted excellent from the tacos, to the burritos, and oh boy the fajitas are my hands down favorits. You can typically expect a 10-15 minute wait for dishes to be prepared, which is well worth it. And the prices here are all fair, fajitas run $10 -$14 depending on your choice of meat. With that said, they only accept cash bills and quarters. Yes, that means no dimes, nickels, or pennies - go figure. Overall, Mi Mariachi has the best Mexican food for the money you will find anywhere near Journal Square.

I'm from Texas. Usually Mexican food in the northeast is very mediocre. This place is excellent. Easily the best Mexican food I've had east of the Mississippi or north of Dallas! Get the chorizo burrito, you won't regret it

Everything (almost) that you could ever want in a taco place. Really fresh food, generous portions, the veg was perfect, the chicken and beef were perfect... the Birria consume was drinkable... not a single complaint. While they don't have alcohol, there is a liquor store next door. I have a confession though... do not mix Jarritos Lime with Patron tequila. It is not innovative nor Marguerita.... It tasted like the Mullet of cocktails. Do not cut your own hair. Jarritos is not a mixer. There is table service so this is a great place to enjoy simple foods made perfectly. It is cash only but they have a ATM on premises. I think Orange is under rated in this country so I am also grateful for my Orange "fix. This place is therefore also A great place to eat, convalesce, and contemplate Eminem's contrarian view on whether or not anything rhymes with Orange.

This hole in the wall is in an unassuming location on Sip Ave. The tacos are excellent - you get 4 for ten dollars and and you can mix and match between the meat you want. (2 of each type). I got two chorizo and two Al pastor. Delicious! The interior is snug but brightly lit and cute; there are about 4 tables total in addition to some counter seating. Seems to be an entire family running the place from the grill to the register. I will definitely come back to try their other dishes. But be prepared because this place is CASH only.

We ordered: - Huevos con chorizo breakfast platter. My fiancé liked it. - Tinga corn quesadilla (per Yelp reviewers' recommendations). This was really very, not sure with others like it. It tastes better with salsa but still a bit dry. - 2 orders of tacos split between two each: lengua, Al pastor, hearty taco and longanisa (chorizo). The Al pastor was my favorite, the pineapple with it was delicious. All that for $45, portion sizes for entrees are very good. Prices are super reasonable. They make their tortillas fresh onsite! We saw them press it using the presser. I wonder if they also make their tacos onsite. Okay I also saw in them in the back chopping iceberg lettuce and they didn't wash the lettuce before chopping and storing them. Hmm... Good vibes, the waitresses are kind. We found street parking outside.
